About me

My name is Anabelle Silva and I'm the founder of Moving Minds e.U. I hold a degree in Physics Engineering and have over 20 years of experience as a private teacher working with international students, with a special focus on the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum as well as A-Level and American mathematics and physics.
Having completed my own IGCSEs in 2000 and earned my IB Diploma in 2002—with mathematics and physics as Higher Level subjects—I understand firsthand the challenges and rewards of these rigorous programs.
Born and raised within the international community of Mexico City, I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and I teach students in both languages. While the majority of my students work with me entirely in English, I also support native Spanish speakers who prefer lessons in Spanish. In those cases, we work through exam-style questions using English academic terminology to ensure fluency and precision in assessment settings. For others, our lessons serve as a bridge to transition from a Spanish-speaking system to an English-based one.
Unlike many who offer tutoring as a side project, I am a full-time professional dedicated to providing the highest level of individualised support for each of my students. Every lesson and assignment is carefully prepared in advance, ensuring our time together is efficient, structured, and tailored to each learner’s goals. I closely follow each student’s progress, helping them fill gaps in understanding, rebuild foundations, and even master an entire syllabus independently. Many of my students have successfully completed full programs or excelled in demanding university courses with my support.
As a private teacher, my goal is to help students become independent learners through additional practice, concept clarification, and personalised feedback. Our sessions are not intended for completing homework, nor do they replace classroom engagement. When a student struggles with assignments, I focus on explaining the underlying concepts, guiding them through similar examples, and then encouraging independent completion with renewed confidence and understanding.
Based in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria, I teach both in person and online, helping learners around the world build confidence, mastery, and curiosity in mathematics and physics.
